How to Bring the World into a Home?

Turning a space into a home involves opening the doors to the world and letting it in. Interior design is about understanding that each environment is as changeable as our lives and personalities. You must leave room for the wonders of the world while maintaining comfort and functionality.

At Bonas Studio, we often opt for neutral-colored furniture, which allows us to be more creative in selecting other elements. We like to go all out with rugs and decorative pillows, with retro geometric patterns or stripes capturing our hearts and making the space feel lighter.

Choosing locally sourced ceramics or wicker is also a good idea. These elements are highly versatile and rarely disappoint in terms of durability and quality. Baskets, lampshades, jugs, or vases can be useful and creative elements in the design of our rooms.

This is also a great way to extend your home's outdoor space. Using some pieces in the same material or a similar style helps prolong the feeling of well-being, making the connection between the interior and exterior spaces smoother and more natural. In this sense, plants and fresh flowers are essential, as they not only improve the environment but also create a sense of belonging in a home.

And what a wonderful experience it is to buy flowers! Throughout the Algarve, there are wonderful markets where you can get lost among stalls of fresh produce and flowers: the Municipal Market of Lagos and the Municipal Market of Portimão are two good examples.
